Maybe it was the hormones or my natural skepticism, but the first time someone shared a list of pregnancy freebies with me, I thought that there was no way people would actually give me baby stuff for free. Either it was a scam, I’d pay out the kazoo with shipping fees, or I had to sell my soul (along with my email) to get these items.
What about you, Mama? Does the idea of free baby stuff set off your warning signals?
Well, as it turns out, there is such a thing as legitimately free baby stuff. This post is written by a fellow mom that has actually explored these murky waters and can help you come out the other side ( and with a considerable amount of loot!)

17 Legitimate Pregnancy Freebies You Need to Grab

Baby Budgeting Worksheets and Planner
Your first freebie comes from me!
As I’m writing this, I’m actually in my second trimester with a 2-year-old constantly draining our pandemic supply of toilet paper. Mama, I KNOW how expensive having a baby can be. I know how much stress it can put on your finances.
Which is exactly why I created these free baby budgeting worksheets to help you plan out your entire financial journey through pregnancy and baby’s first year.
If you’re looking for tips and tricks for how I’ve thrived on one income with baby, check out my course Baby on a Budget.
Free Labor Class – KOPA Birth Class
Labor is one of the most daunting aspects of pregnancy. If you’re a first time mom, you have no idea what to expect, when it’s going to start, and how to cope with the pain.
If those are your fears, you’re not alone. I both dreaded and looked forward to the end of my pregnancy for this very reason.
That’s why I’m so happy to tell you about this first freebie. The KOPA Birth Class is, hands down, my favorite online childbirth class. In my opinion, it’s a must for any mom hoping to give birth naturally.
For a limited time, the founder of the course, Katie, is offering the first class of her curriculum for free.
Even if you’re not planning on giving birth naturally, it’s well worth your time. It covers the pain you’ll experience during labor, why relaxation is so important to conquering it, and some key tips to relaxing through it.
Labor doesn’t have to be scary, I promise! Grab your hour long class right here.
Amazon Welcome Box
By leaps and bounds, the Target welcome box and Amazon welcome box are two of my favorite pregnancy freebies EVER.
These welcome boxes contain free “samples” (honestly, some of the goodies don’t even qualify as just samples) of baby formula, shampoos, diapers, wipes, and more.
For the first 3 months of my daughter’s life, she was bathed solely with baby soap samples.
It’s super easy to snag this welcome box. Just sign up for Amazon Baby Registry Here, create your free baby gift registry, use the Amazon checklist to add the items to your registry, and request your welcome box.
I highly recommend you sign up for the Amazon Baby Gift Registry, even without the welcome box. Not only do they give you a box full of goodies, but you will receive a 15% completion discount for any of the items remaining on your gift registry.
That includes the car seat and stroller no one bought you…
If you’re not a prime member, you’ll still qualify for the completion discount, but it’ll be knocked down to 10%.
Note: This is a very popular freebie, so sometimes the gift basket will be out-of-stock. Sign up for the in-stock alerts and keep checking weekly. They usually come back in stock very quickly. Also, the actual contents of the box vary from person to person.
Milkology Breastfeeding Class
On the fence about breastfeeding? Not sure HOW to do it? I hear you! Luckily, there’s a course for that.
Milkology is, hands-down, my favorite breastfeeding course on the web. It teaches not only the HOW of breastfeeding but the WHY. It delivers essential that makes breastfeeding a breeze.
Sign up for Milkology’s free breastfeeding course. You won’t regret it.
However, if you’d like to get a serious jump start on breastfeeding, you can sign up for the Ultimate Breastfeeding Class for….$19 bucks! Crazy cheap and totally worth it. They also have a Back to Work Pumping Class that’s extremely useful for you working mamas!
Target Welcome Bag
Amazon has a vast inventory, but Target’s items are so cute and your guests will have the convenience of purchasing items from a brick and mortar store.
The Target Welcome Bag is loaded with valuable items, making it an excellent pregnancy freebie you’ll actually use!
Simply create your registry (the link takes you straight to the sign up page), pick out a few items, either print or save your confirmation and visit the nearest Target customer service desk to collect your welcome bag.
(Insider tip: I used Amazon for the smaller items on my registry and Target for the larger stuff like, furniture, a car seat, or diaper pails. Small items are very easy to return at Amazon, but larger items are much easier to return at Target if they don’t work out.)
I actually came across this pregnancy freebie by accident. I paid $2 for the goody box at Motherhood Maternity which signed me up to receive a free can of baby formula from Enfamil.
If you want a free can of formula (plus a ton of coupons for more freebies), all you have to do is go to the registration page on Enfamil Baby Formula’s website, fill out the form, and they’ll send you one within two weeks. Similac also offers a similar program.
Walmart Welcome Box
Similar to the Amazon and Target welcome box, the Walmart welcome box is also available once you complete your registry. I’m extremely excited about this welcome box. Not only should Walmart be on every mama’s registry, but this box actually cost $5 until now!
You can find more details about how to snag yours here.
Honest Company Diapers and Wipes
This is another deal I found out about postpartum that I wish I had taken advantage of (never mind that I’m a ridiculously huge Jessica Alba fan…).
The Honest Company creates baby hygiene products that you can trust. Their diapers are bleach, fragrance, and latex-free.
Most importantly, Honest Company offers a discovery bundle that allows you to try out their products. It’s actually a pretty decent bundle too; it includes 7 diapers and 10 biodegradable wet wipes.
(By the way, this deal isn’t just for newborns, either. Honest Company will send age-appropriated diapers).
**Update– Honest Company charges a $5.95 shipping fee for the discovery box. Also, be sure to unsubscribe before you are charged for the subscription.**
On that note, Honest Company also sends out a free natural baby essentials sampler that includes shampoo/body wash, balm, hand soap, multi-surface cleaner, and hand lotion. This box keeps going out-of-stock, keep an eye on it!
Free Goody Bag from Buy Buy Baby
Are you ready for more free samples? Register with Buy Buy Baby to get another freebie bag. Like Target, you simply register online or in store, and visit the customer service desk to pick it up.
Free Cashback from Ebates (AKA Rakuten)
I love Ebates (now known as Rakuten). I’m not kidding, I have saved so much money with Ebates, it’s ridiculous.
In case you have no clue what Ebates is, it’s an app that gives you cashback for qualifying purchases. No credit card. No surveys. None of that.
Ebates is an affiliate for several large brands. Meaning, when you buy things with their app, they make a small commission at no charge to you. Better yet, they share a small percentage of that kick-back with you.
Since signing up, I’ve already earned $100 that went straight into my PayPal account.
If you want to sign up, use the link for $10 in cashback right off the bat. If you’re into brands like Buybuybaby, Carter’s, Gymboree, Amazon, Target, WAL-MART…it’ll definitely be worth your time.
(Insider tip: I barely think about Ebates. I activated the Chrome Extension on my laptop so that when I shop online, it reminds me that I can get cashback. Always, ALWAYS check Ebates before you book travel plans. That’s where the real money is at.)

Lots of “Free” Baby Books with ABCMouse
If you’re a first time mom and you’re looking for lots of free baby books, check out ABCMouse.
This is an educational app for kids ages 2-8. While your baby obviously can’t use this app for a while, it actually contains a vast library of children’s books that you will love reading to your baby.
If you already have kids, downloading ABCMouse should be on your to-do list. This app is fun, educational, and trustworthy. It contains so many games, puzzles, and activities that you might actually get things done while you’re pregnant.
You can try the app for free here. As I’m writing this, COVID-19 is in full-swing. To help parents out, ABCmouse is offering their subscription for as low as $5 a month. For no shady ads and a huge resource library, it’s definitely worth it!

If you aspire to create a little bookworm, you’ve got to check out Amazon Kindle. The thing is, baby books are expensive, they become irrelevant FAST, and then they take up room. Unless you’re dealing with a sensory children’s book, switching to digital can be a huge money-saver.
That’s why Amazon Kindle Unlimited is SUCH a steal.
When you use the free Amazon Kindle Unlimited 30-day trial, you have access to literally hunnnnnnnnddreeeeeds of baby books.
Pregnancy Resource Guide
Pregnancy can be downright overwhelming. You know that there are good avenues of information, but with the vastness of the internet, it sometimes feels almost impossible to locate it. That’s how I felt when I was pregnant, anyway.
And that’s why I’m recommending this Pregnancy Resource Guide by Pregnant Chicken. This free printable is like a digital Rolodex of baby resources. Where can you find active recalls? Which sites are available for breastfeeding advice? This guide will tell you. Best part is, it’s an instant download! No email address required.

50 Free Prints with Shutterfly
Most likely, you’ll want to send out birth announcements. Shutterfly has massive saes that can help you save BIG on birth announcements.
When you sign up for Shutterfly, you’ll gain access to 50 free prints. You’ll need them once baby arrives!
Also, some welcome boxes include a free $20 credit. I received mine from Motherhood Maternity once I purchased their new mom bundle for $2, however, many moms received their Shutterfly credit free when they signed up for the free sample box from Similac.
Free Baby Care App
Pediatricians recommend keeping track of your newborn’s diaper output and milk intake. This will help you notice the very beginning signs of dehydration or failure to thrive. If you’re a mom that loves schedules and believes in sleep training (*raises hand*), you’ll also need to keep track of when you feed your baby and which breast you use.
Pretty easy, right?
Once your little bundle of joy arrives, there’s a 99.7% chance you’re going to be so exhausted that you won’t be able to remember your own name, let alone remember when you last fed your baby.
Luckily, there’s an app for that. Baby care apps allow you to record your baby’s diapers (including whether it was solids or liquid), food intake, sleep duration, mood, and even his weight and height.
Many baby care apps come at a cost.
However, there is one awesome baby care app that I’ve used right from the beginning that is completely free. The name is, (you’ll never guess) “Baby Care App” by Wachanga. I’ve tried many baby care apps, free and paid, and I honestly think this is the best one.
One of my favorite mom blogger freebies come from Jamie at Simple Living Mommy. You will need to subscribe to her email list (I’m a subscriber and she’s NEVER spammed me), but once you do, you’ll gain access to her free Natural Childbirth eBook and other useful pregnancy printables.
There you have it! 17 no-strings-attached pregnancy freebies! If you’d like to find some other awesome deals and preparation posts, check out the posts below. And, I’m always pinning helpful articles to Pinterest, so please feel free to follow me there!
Have a great pregnancy, Mama!
